Have you memorized an answer for a test, then frozen when the question changed? Knowing a fact isn't knowing what to do with it. Bloom's taxonomy is a framework showing six ways to think while studying. Take the water cycle. You Remember evaporation and condensation. You Understand by explaining how water moves. You Apply it to explain why a wet shirt dries. You Analyze a diagram to place each process. You Evaluate an explanation and decide if it makes sense. Then you Create a model or explanation-not necessarily from scratch. Here's the catch: remembering is only level one. These levels describe increasingly complex work, not a rigid staircase or proof that learning happened. You move between them depending on your goal. So when you prepare for a test, don't stop at recalling the answer. Use it, question it, judge it, and create something with it.
