Why should an AI app need a custom connection every time it reaches for a new tool? Think of USB-C: one standard connection can work with many devices. MCP, or Model Context Protocol, brings that idea to AI. The connection isn't built separately into the app each time. Instead, the app talks through an MCP server, which exposes tools or data. One shared standard lets the app reach available tools without a custom connection for each one.
