Want to stop people seeing when you’re online on Instagram? Here’s how to turn off Active Status. Open Instagram and go to your profile. Tap the menu icon in the top corner, then choose Settings and privacy. If your menu looks different, look for Privacy or Messages. Now find Activity status, sometimes listed under “How others can interact with you.” Open it, and switch off “Show activity status.” On some versions you may also see “Show when you’re active together”—turn that off too. That’s it. Your active status won’t appear to others, and you also won’t be able to see theirs. If you can’t find the option, update the app and try the same search in Settings.
