Video narration
How can a heavy load feel manageable? Think of a seesaw. Its fulcrum, a fixed point, lets a small effort move a load. On a lever, the positions of the effort, fulcrum, and load decide how much force you need. A fixed pulley uses a rope over a wheel to change the direction of your pull. It doesn't erase the work; it changes how your force is applied. A lever trades distance for force; a fixed pulley redirects your pull.
