Scanning a long product list row by row just to find one price gets old fast. Let Excel do that search for you. Say the product ID is in A2, and your table runs from E2 through G10. Product IDs are in the first column, names are second, and prices are third. In the cell where you want the price, enter: =VLOOKUP(A2,E2:G10,3,FALSE) A2 is the value Excel searches for. E2:G10 is the table, and the matching ID must be in its first column. The 3 tells Excel to return the third column within that selected range-not the third column of the worksheet. FALSE requires an exact match, so Excel won't return a nearby value. Press Enter. If A2 contains a matching product ID, Excel returns that row's price. VLOOKUP finds the matching row, then brings back the value from the column you choose.
