Does a stronger AI model automatically make AI dependable? Imagine a new hire asked to prepare a report, but given no clear instructions, no access to needed information, and no way to check the result. Even a capable person would struggle. This comparison is about the setup, not a claim that AI thinks or learns like a person. An AI model also works within a setup. It can get useful context, tools for a task, limits on its actions, and checks on its output before it reaches you. Designing that surrounding support is harness engineering: how the model is guided and its work checked. The model is not the whole system. Checks help catch mistakes; they don't make every answer correct. No-not by itself. Like a new hire, a capable model is more dependable when its setup helps it succeed.
