Can SpaceX's huge spending deliver the profits investors expect, like a household paying upfront for a renovation and hoping it pays off later? Wall Street expects nearly $13 billion in third-quarter revenue, about $6.6 billion in EBITDA-earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization-and 13 to 14 cents per share in adjusted earnings. That would be a sharp change from the previous quarter, when SpaceX reported $7.8 billion in revenue and a loss of 9 cents per share. AI computing and Starlink are expected to drive the jump. Those estimates look strong. But the real test is spending. Last quarter, SpaceX put about $18 billion into capital investments, much of it tied to AI infrastructure. Investors want proof that this spending is showing up as stronger profits. SpaceX reports Tuesday after the U.S. market closes. So can the spending deliver? Not yet known. Tuesday's report must show whether AI and Starlink are turning that spending into stronger profits.
