You're drawing every edge of the mug, but it still feels wrong. It's frustrating when you work on tiny parts before seeing how they fit together. Think of the mug and its shadow as one arrangement, not separate details. Begin with the largest shapes: the mug's body, opening, and shadow on the table. Keep them simple. Compare their size and placement: how tall is the mug beside its width, and where does the shadow sit? Look back and forth; you don't need to measure every feature. The drawing gets more convincing when you check the big shapes first. Now notice where the light falls, and block in the main light and shadow areas before smaller marks. This is a useful starting point, not a fixed sequence. No mug nearby? Choose another simple object. For your mug, get its shape and shadow right before you spend time on tiny handle details.
