An MCCB, or molded case circuit breaker, is a protective switch used in electrical distribution.
In normal operation, current flows through closed contacts to your load. If the current rises too high for too long—an overload—the MCCB senses the heating effect and trips after a short delay to protect the wiring. If there’s a short circuit, the current spikes instantly, and the MCCB trips almost immediately. When it trips, the internal contacts open, the circuit breaks, and current stops. After the fault is cleared, you can reset it to restore power—simple protection against overloads and short circuits.
