What is science? Be honest-no Googling. Take a second. I'll tell you what to do with that question, but first, notice how easily the word earns your trust. "Clinically proven." "Scientists found." "Scientific approach." You see "science" on toothpaste, courses, supplements-and the label starts doing the thinking for you. Why is psychology science, but astrology isn't? Astrologers observe and calculate too. "Experiments," you say. But what makes an experiment scientific? That's where the simple answer wobbles. Philosophers kept looking for one rule. Each proposal drew objections; the next did too. There may be no single test that cleanly separates science from everything else. That doesn't mean science is lying, or every claim is equally sound. A vaccine can work; evidence can still be checked. So what is science? Not a magic label, but a way to test claims. When you hear "proven," ask: who checked it, and how?
