Video narration
Why does pushing a heavy box up a ramp feel easier than lifting it straight up? Work isn't tiredness: it happens when your force moves the box through a distance. Energy lets you do that work, transferring into its motion and height. The ramp is an inclined plane, a simple machine. It trades less force for more distance, so without friction, the work stays roughly the same. So why easier? It makes the work easier to do, not disappear.
