If your toy box gets fuller, does that mean more looking, more room, or both? Imagine hunting for one little red car. You peek at each toy, one by one, until you find it. With more toys, this game takes more checks. That's not a clock counting seconds; it's how the looking-work grows as the pile grows. A bigger pile can change two things: the looking and the extra room. Now sort your toys into groups. If you use an extra tray to hold a group while you work, that tray is extra room; the toys in the box are still the pile you're sorting. The growing looking-work is time complexity. How much extra room the game needs is space complexity. So a fuller toy box can change either one, or both. Remember to ask about the looking and the room separately.
