Have you ever wondered where a tiny hair comes from? It doesn't begin on the skin's surface. Each hair starts inside a structure called a hair follicle inside your skin. At the bottom of that follicle, living cells keep making new cells. As they grow and harden, they push older cells upward, forming the hair fiber. And here's the key: the hair does not grow from its tip. Its length increases at the root, where new cells are produced. The hair is pushed through the skin until you can see it. Tiny blood vessels around the follicle supply its active cells with oxygen and nutrients. They support the living root, not the hair outside your skin. This process follows a natural growth cycle: the hair grows, pauses, and eventually sheds. So where is that hair made? In the hair follicle's root, where new cells push it outward.
