Video narration
Your paycheck lands in your account, and later you tap your card at the grocery store. You leave with food; the number in your account is smaller. Money lets you trade without asking your employer to hand you groceries, or finding someone who wants exactly what you offer. People accept it; prices help you compare what groceries cost, and you can save some for another day. At checkout, a digital payment doesn't send bills across the counter. It updates account records, often through banks or payment networks, until the store receives the money. That payment hasn't vanished. It's income for the store, which can use it for wages, suppliers, rent, or other costs. The food and the work behind it are the real goods being exchanged; money is the link. Your paycheck buys groceries, and the store's payment helps pay other people.
