Video narration
Have you ever imagined arriving at school on a sunny day-and suddenly, no sunlight at all? Your classroom would look dark, and the playground would lose its bright colors. You would need a light to see. And without the Sun's warmth, Earth would become much colder. But sunlight has an even bigger job. Watch the plants outside. They use sunlight's energy, along with water and air, to make their own food. That is a surprise: sunlight is not food for plants. It gives them energy to make food. A green leaf is like a tiny food maker. Plants use that food to grow. Then a rabbit can eat a plant, and people can eat plants too. Animals and people depend on plants for food. So, would a sunless school day matter? Yes. Sunlight makes day bright and warm, helps plants make food, and supports life on Earth.
