Is a falling market automatically a good time to invest in mutual funds? Not necessarily. Oil, global uncertainty and foreign selling are pressuring Indian markets. For long-term investors, a correction can offer better entry prices. With the same monthly budget, a lower price buys more. NAV is the value of one unit. So a lower NAV means the same SIP buys more units, while regular investing spreads purchases over time. But more units do not prove a fund is cheap or suitable. For a goal seven to ten years away, consider a diversified equity fund if it suits your risk appetite. Continue planned SIPs. Markets may fall further. SIPs do not guarantee profits. Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully. Yes-but only as part of a long-term plan, never as a guarantee. Stay diversified, follow your goals, and do not chase the bottom.
