What does sex education mean when you're nine? If you ask before a high-five or hug, you're checking whether someone feels comfortable. Your body deserves that same respect: you can say no to a touch, and you must stop when someone else says no. Here's the important flip: at nine, sex education isn't a how-to for sex. It's learning to respect bodies and stay safe. Your private parts are the parts covered by your underwear, and they deserve privacy. Sometimes a trusted grown-up, a safe adult who cares for you, may need to help with health or care. They should explain what they're doing. If a touch feels uncomfortable, confusing, or unsafe, tell a trusted grown-up. And if someone asks you to keep a touch secret, tell anyway. You get a say about your body. If something feels wrong or confusing, tell a trusted grown-up.
