Video narration
Look at that puddle shining in the sunshine after the rain. It sits on the ground, holding water from the clouds. Then the Sun warms the puddle. Slowly, some of its water starts to evaporate. That means it changes into water vapor-water in the air that we cannot see. The puddle has not disappeared. The Sun changed its water into invisible water vapor, and it travels upward. High above, the water vapor cools. Tiny drops gather together, making a cloud. When the cloud becomes full, rain falls back down to the ground. Some of that rain makes puddles again. This repeating path is the water cycle: water moves up, gathers in clouds, and comes back as rain. So the puddle was never gone. It was traveling through the water cycle-and returning to the ground to begin again.
