Ever get paid, feel relieved, and then wonder where the money went before the month ends? Follow your bank balance through one month. Money enters as income: pay, a sale, a gift, or another payment. Then it moves out. Some outflows are planned, like bills; others are everyday expenses or irregular. Debt payments take a share, and saving moves money toward a future purpose-it has not vanished. Moving money between your own accounts is not spending either; it is still yours, just elsewhere. Money is not disappearing. It is moving to specific destinations. Your ending balance is what you started with, plus money in, minus money out. Track that flow, and the balance becomes predictable. You can see what comes in, what leaves, and what remains. That is cash flow: income enters, expenses and other outflows leave, and your bank balance shows the result.
