An inkjet printer works a lot like a tiny paint sprayer, but with extreme precision. Inside, a print head holds ink and fires microscopic droplets onto the paper. As the paper feeds through, the print head moves back and forth across the page, placing dots in the right spots. Those dots blend together to form letters, lines, and images—one row at a time, until the whole page is printed.
