Claude just made a major move in India! Anthropic has officially started rolling out Indian rupee pricing for its Claude AI subscriptions. Until now, Indian users had to pay in US dollars using international transactions. But subscriptions can now be purchased directly in rupees, with GST already included. Claude Pro costs ₹2,399 per month, or approximately ₹2,000 per month when billed annually. For power users, Claude Max is available at ₹11,999 and ₹23,999 per month. The Claude Team plan starts at ₹2,399 per user per month with annual billing. However, there is one limitation: Claude still does not support UPI payments. Users must pay through cards or Apple and Google’s app stores. India already contributes around 5.8 percent of Claude’s global usage, making it Anthropic’s second-largest market after the United States. Rupee pricing clearly shows that India is becoming one of the biggest battlegrounds in the global AI race.
