One fearful thought can become a worry spiral: your feelings follow it, and soon your actions do too. Imagination isn't automatically good or bad. It is a God-given capacity to picture and expect-and it must be directed, not blindly obeyed. Fear-fed thoughts produce panic and destructive choices. Faith-fed thoughts, grounded in God's promises, produce hope and courage. Use these questions as a filter, not a formula: Is this true? Does it agree with God's Word? Does it produce faith or fear? Does it lead me toward Christ? Second Corinthians ten, verse five calls this taking every thought captive-bringing it under Christ's authority before acting. That doesn't mean pretending emotions are absent. It means choosing what you feed: return to God's promise instead of rehearsing the worst case. Imagination will serve whatever you feed. Feed it God's Word, and let faith-not fear-shape your next step.
