Why does adulting feel like a scam? You pay bills, keep the place running, remember appointments, and somehow paperwork keeps appearing like it breeds overnight. Whenever you ask how something works, the answer can feel like, "You should know this by now." Who taught you to compare insurance plans, fix a leaky tap, or figure out which form goes where? People seem confident, so you assume there was a class you missed. But the scam isn't that adulthood is hard. It's the idea that everyone else already knows how to do it. Most people are working things out as they go, through awkward phone calls, forgotten deadlines, and small wins. Being unsure doesn't mean you're bad at life; it means you're learning a job nobody clearly trained you for. So, why does adulting feel like a scam?
