What makes this book special. Grow Your Words is a 30-week programme for Class 3. Every week has two short learning days, Day 1 and Day 2, and each day introduces one root through four simple steps: Words to Know, four words built from the root, with clear, child-friendly meanings. Words at Work, an example sentence that shows a word in real use. Word Detective, a bonus word with a clue, so the child uses the root to guess its meaning. Now You Try, the child writes sentences of their own, turning knowing a word into using it. In 30 weeks, a child meets 60 roots, 240 Words to Know and 60 bonus words: 300 words in all. More importantly, they gain a skill that will help them unlock thousands of other words for years to come. Learning that lasts. After every four weeks, a Review Test brings back the eight roots just learnt through a word bank, fill-in-the-blank sentences, matching and root recall. This regular return to earlier learning is what moves words from short-term memory into long-term use. The roots are arranged to grow with the child: simple beginnings such as UN, RE and DIS come first, followed by roots for numbers and size, the senses, science and nature, and movement and action. Examples are drawn from everyday Indian life, festivals, family, school and play, so the words feel familiar from the very first page. A Programme at a Glance page helps with planning, and full answer keys at the end make checking quick and easy.
