What is Python, and what is a variable? Python is a language for giving instructions to a computer. Think of a variable like a labeled box: the label is its name, and the contents are its value. Now see it in `age = 10`. `age` is the variable name, and `10` is the value it refers to. So Python is the programming language, while a variable is simply a name for a value.
