Apple pie, made simple. Here’s what you need: pie crust, 5 to 6 apples, sugar, cinnamon, a little flour or cornstarch, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Peel, core, and slice the apples, then toss them with sugar, cinnamon, flour, lemon, and salt until glossy. Roll out your bottom crust, fit it into a pie dish, and pour in the filling. Add the top crust, seal the edges, and cut a few vents. Brush with egg wash if you like, and sprinkle a little sugar. Bake at 375°F, about 45 to 55 minutes, until deep golden and bubbly. Cool at least 2 hours so it sets. Slice, serve, and enjoy.
