How to Turn Document Content into an AI Video
Convert a document into an AI video by selecting the material your viewer needs, adapting it into a brief or narration, generating scenes and checking the result against the source. ToMotion currently uses pasted text or summaries for this workflow.

Choose the part of the document worth watching
Start with a viewer question, not a page count. A handbook may contain enough material for onboarding, leave requests and escalation training; those are different videos. Select the passages that answer one of those questions.
Keep the original document as the source of record. A video is a guided explanation and may leave out detail a reader needs later. Record the document title, version and owner so that future updates have a clear starting point.
Extract readable text and preserve the important details
In the current ToMotion create form, paste the relevant document text, slide notes or a prepared summary into the main input. The attachment control accepts reference images; it is not a PDF, DOCX or PPTX importer.
For a scanned PDF, obtain readable text with your document or OCR tool first and compare the extraction against the original. Tables, formulas, names and multi-column layouts deserve particular attention. Do not feed a broken extraction into generation and assume the result will repair it.
- Identify the main question and intended audience.
- Retain required steps, definitions, exceptions and limitations.
- Remove repetition, page furniture and material unrelated to the outcome.
- Replace confidential names with approved examples where appropriate.
Map document content to narration and visuals
A report paragraph does not have to become a scene of text. Explain the conclusion in narration and use the scene to show the relationship that supports it. Treat a chart as evidence that needs accurate labels, not an invitation to invent new figures.

Use a brief that stays tied to the source
The following template is an input example. Replace every bracketed field and paste the actual source excerpt before generating.
Create an animated explainer for [audience] answering [question]. Use only these source notes: [paste selected text]. Preserve these required details: [steps, definitions and exceptions]. Explain [one concrete example]. Show [diagram or process]. Do not invent missing policies, statistics or deadlines. End with [next action] and direct viewers to [source document] for the full detail.
Review omissions as carefully as wrong statements
Compare the finished narration with the source line by line for required information. A video can contain no false sentence yet still mislead by omitting an exception, condition or dependency. Check that the visual sequence does not contradict the procedure.
If the result is too compressed, narrow the question or split the document into a series. If exact wording is required, prepare the narration yourself and use the Script field, then verify the output.
Choose visibility and keep the video up to date
For internal material, turn off Publish to Public Gallery before generating. It is selected by default on a fresh create form. Check the setting on every project; public watch pages can expose the prompt and narration as well as the video.
Store the final prompt or script with the source version. When the document changes, identify which scene or claim is affected and revise the video. Check the links in your course or knowledge base so readers reach the current version.

Can I upload a PDF or Word document directly to ToMotion?
The current create form accepts reference images, not PDF or DOCX files. Copy the relevant document text or a prepared summary into the prompt, or turn it into narration for Use own script.
Can a scanned PDF become a video?
Yes, if you first extract and verify readable text using a suitable document or OCR tool. Then use the checked text as the source. Inspect numbers, tables and names after extraction.
Will the video include every page?
It should include the material needed for your selected outcome. Split a long document into focused videos and link viewers to the full source when appropriate.
How do I keep an internal document video private?
Turn off Publish to Public Gallery before generation and verify the project visibility before sharing. Do not assume the default is private.
