Choose slide export or a new animated explanation
PowerPoint supports saving a presentation as a video with timings and narration. That is the appropriate starting point when the original slide layout is the deliverable. AI adaptation is a different process: the slides provide the information for a new explanation.
If exact chart placement, animations or branded slide layouts must remain intact, do not expect a generated explainer to reproduce them. Choose the workflow before spending time rewriting the deck.
Prepare slide text and speaker notes
In the current ToMotion create form, paste the relevant document text, slide notes or a prepared summary into the main input. The attachment control accepts reference images; it is not a PDF, DOCX or PPTX importer.
Keep speaker notes that explain the slide, define a term or provide a necessary example. Remove meeting-only remarks and references such as “as we discussed earlier.” The viewer should understand the result without attending the original presentation.
- Write the audience and desired outcome at the top of your outline.
- Group related slides into sections and remove repeated material.
- Copy the factual claims and the notes that explain them.
- Flag charts or figures that must be checked against the original.
- Write transitions so the sections make sense without a presenter.
Turn slide bullets into spoken explanations
A fragment such as “Handoff: owner / status / blockers” is useful on a slide but leaves the speaker to supply the meaning. A narration draft could say: “Name the next owner, explain the current status and call out anything blocking progress.”
Use prompt mode to develop the outline, or Use own script if you have written the narration already. Put diagram and scene ideas in the visual instructions, not among the words to be spoken.
Adapt this presentation outline into an animated explainer for [audience]: [paste sections and useful speaker notes]. Preserve these source facts: [facts]. Explain the material so it works without a live presenter. Use [visual relationships] and end with [action]. Treat the deck as source material; do not invent figures, claims or missing slide details.
Match the layout to the viewing screen
Choose landscape for a conventional lesson or presentation setting, or an available portrait format when the audience will watch vertically. Rework dense diagrams for the smaller screen instead of shrinking an entire slide.
Use readable labels and one relationship per scene. Check the generated video on the target device; a large preview on your desktop can hide mobile readability problems.
Review the adapted video against the deck
Check that the opening states what the viewer will learn, the section order still makes sense and the final action matches the presentation. Verify each number and chart interpretation against the source.
For internal material, turn off Publish to Public Gallery before generating. It is selected by default on a fresh create form. Check the setting on every project; public watch pages can expose the prompt and narration as well as the video.
If the result has too many ideas, split the deck at a natural section boundary. Retain the original presentation and narration draft so that later changes do not require reconstructing the source.

Does ToMotion import PPTX files?
The current form uses pasted slide text, notes or an outline. Its attachment control is for reference images, so this workflow does not require or promise direct PPTX import.
Will the AI video look exactly like my PowerPoint?
No exact layout preservation is promised. ToMotion creates new animated scenes from the source. Use a presentation export workflow when the original slide design must remain intact.
Should I include speaker notes?
Include notes that explain the slide or preserve necessary context. Remove meeting-specific remarks and rewrite fragments into sentences that work without a live presenter.
Can I use an existing narration script?
Yes. Enable Use own script, paste the spoken text into Script and put the audience and visual guidance in Video instructions.
