Video narration
AWS Fargate is a way to run containers on AWS without managing servers. Instead of picking EC2 instances, patching them, and sizing a cluster, you define what you want to run: a container image, CPU and memory, networking, and scaling rules. Fargate then provisions the compute behind the scenes and runs your container as a “task” in Amazon ECS, or as a pod in Amazon EKS. You pay for the resources your tasks actually use, per second, while AWS handles the underlying hosts, capacity, and isolation. So when should you use it? It’s great for APIs and microservices, background workers, batch processing, and scheduled jobs—especially when traffic is spiky or you don’t want a team dedicated to server operations. If you like containers, but want the infrastructure to disappear, Fargate is the serverless compute layer for them.
