Video narration
Have you seen a clip and wondered: is Tesla really making a car that flies? Cars and planes both move people, but sharing that purpose doesn't mean a car can fly. What Musk has discussed is a future Tesla Roadster, a sports car, with a proposed SpaceX-related package of rocket thrusters. A thruster is meant to push; that push is called thrust. But hearing about thrusters doesn't tell you whether a car can take off, stay controlled, or fly as a real product. That's the key distinction: a proposal isn't a proven flight system, and no working Tesla flight is established by this discussion. So an exciting headline is not proof that a flying Tesla has been built or is about to fly. No-not as a working Tesla you can buy or see fly. Musk has discussed rocket thrusters for a Roadster, but that isn't a proven flying car.
