You're scanning the drinks at your usual shop. One catches your eye, but what makes you pick it-the drink itself, the price, where you can get it, or what you've heard about it? Together, those choices are the 4 Ps of marketing: Product is the drink being offered; Price is what you pay; Place is where and how you can get it-not just the shop address; Promotion is how you hear about it and get encouraged to consider it. Here's the flip: marketing isn't just getting your attention. If the drink doesn't fit the price, or you can't access it, an ad alone won't make the whole offer work. The four choices need to fit together. Next time you choose a drink, look beyond what caught your eye: the drink, its cost, how you get it, and how you heard of it. That's the mix at work.
